Snow Day...

IMPORTANT PROTEST UPDATE:
2/1/08 at 9:30pm
Unfortunately, we have been asked not to park in the donut shop lot anymore. There is still plenty of parking though, so come anyway...we'll figure it out!
So here's a crazy idea. It looks like this snow will stick, so what do you think about building a "Protesting Snowman" tomorrow? Since I was never very good at the snowman thing, I'm calling on you experts in our midst to help me make this happen. I'll see what I can dig up for the face, hat, scarf, etc., but I need some snow-builders. Round up the kids and the grandkids and come on down. We'll give him a sign and leave him there to carry our message after we have packed up and gone home. Are you in?

Let It Snow...

Bumped 12/17/07 9:15 pm ~ poe
We had a really good crowd this week...I'm thrilled that so many people were able to make it. I think it makes a profound statement when people see us out there freezing - they know we mean it! There was a lot of traffic this week, probably all the shoppers, and the positive responses we got were great. I love it when passers-by stop to talk to us or join us, and that happens almost every week. It does my heart good to know that in our own little way we are reaching out to our neighbors and perhaps effecting change. Many thanks to the gentleman who pulled up to our group, rolled down his window, and handed us a most generous donation to support what we are doing, then went on his way. It's not so much the money - though that was awfully nice - it's that he was willing to invest in us. Protesting isn't for everyone, for any number of reasons, but that people are willing to support us in other ways is important too. Thank you sir for taking the time to stop and for contributing to the cause!
