I mentioned a few weeks ago that the number of fatalities had not stayed the same in all the weeks we've convened, and then this past week that was actually the case. 4,113 two weeks in a row. It was good not to have to change our sign for once, and to be thankful that we didn't lose another hero during the week. Still, there have been fatalities since Saturday, and the violence, and thus the casualties, in Afghanistan have increased. No matter how you look at it, things are not going well in the Middle East. All the more reason for us to press on. Below are this week's pictures...thanks billyb and Nancy!

Photos from Saturday...
We had a great crowd on Saturday, and a lot of support from passersby. Is it just me, or did it seem like we had even more honks and positive feedback than usual? People are absolutely sick of this war, and overwhelmingly support bringing our troops home. Still, the media has been largely silent on what is happening in Iraq, other than to inject the occasional "The Surge is Working" meme. What they fail to mention more often than not, though, is that the "surge" was designed to provide a window of security in which to allow political progress among the Iraqi government. That didn't work out so well. Or maybe it did. The Iraqis are now calling for us to get the hell out, which puts a bit of a wrinkle in the McBush doctrine. Could be interesting to see how this plays out.

would it not be easier to end islam? you are not going to kick against the military goads for too much longer.
I see you folks with your signage on the weekends. I believe that if you end islam, which in itself is an occupation,(if one allows) you would end the so called "war".
Usually the first thing a post like this draws is venom and anger. So with both spared, please I would for you to bear this idea. END ISLAM! END THE WAR! Thank You.
Ok, I'm going to try to have a respectful dialogue with you. What is your point here? Obviously you have a problem with Islam, and I suppose that's you're right, but what exactly does that have to do with the US occupying Iraq? You may recall that before we destroyed Iraq they were a largely secular country. But even if that hadn't been the case, what right did we have to attack them? Do you believe it's okay attack a country and its people if you happen to disagree with their religious beliefs? Since Iraq had nothing to do with the horrific attacks on our country, we had no reason or right to go to war there. That's what we're saying, and you have every right to disagree with our position and our actions, but frankly your argument is weak.
