Driving by our usual protest site today, we noticed that the sidewalk all along the protest area is completely torn up. It would be difficult and dangerous to protest as usual, so we have devised a Plan B. We will set up shop on the other side of Fort Street at the old Sunbeam Donut Shop, which is currently unoccupied. Bill will be there with the signs and there is quite a bit of parking in that lot. That will be our base, and we can spread out from there. Some of us can cross back to the Wyandotte side...I just don't think it would be a good idea for all of us to meet there in its current condition. It should work out fine...a few of us will get there a little early to direct people and ensure that things go as smoothly as possible. If you know of anyone who might not see this, kindly let them know.
We certainly won't let a little construction keep us away, though this development does beg the question: If you're takin' to the street and they take away the street, do you suppose they're trying to tell you something?! ~: )
See you all tomorrow!
Peace, Pam

Music For Impeachment On Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Johanson Charles Gallery in Detroit's Eastern Market, artists and activists will hold a benefit called Change The Music to raise money for an impeachment billboard and for organizations like World Can't Wait, A-28, and MIImpeach.org in an effort to step up the fight to hold Bush and Cheney accountable for their crimes. It will include artists of many different disciplines (visual artists, musicians, emcees, poet, dancers, etc.) and activists joining together to build the path of change. Bands will perform, poets will read, activists will speak and organizations will mobilize.
