These numbers are staggering...20 American deaths in Iraq since this time last week. In case anyone is wondering how I got the number 4,033 while other reports are saying 4,032, I am using the figures at the icasualties temporary site. Apparently their main site was viciously hacked, but they managed to keep up with the relevant numbers. At the end of our protest yesterday we were reminded with a hauntingly beautiful song that there is so much more suffering, in Iraq and elsewhere, than we can even imagine, far beyond the number of Americans lost to this occupation. Thanks so much to our singer, Tayo Aluko from Liverpool England, pictured above, for giving us a moment of pause to reflect on that reality.

The Women in Black Meet the Wyandotte Protesters...

Here's the first batch of photos. I'll put up a second post in a bit with more. What a truly fantastic group of people we managed to gather in one place. I only wish I could have talked to more of you. There's nothing like finding yourself amongst a group of like-minded people, united for a common purpose. Honestly, I probably could have sat down with any person there and had a spirited, meaningful conversation for a couple of hours. Thank you everyone for coming out and helping to spread our message.
